Notice

The Charter Township of Gun Plain office will be closed until further notice, starting on Monday, November 23, 2020. In hopes of slowing the spread of COVID-19, the Township is closing the office and directing everyone to use our drop box(s), online payment, email or voicemail. Our elected officials will continue working in order to perform necessary government activities. Other Township employees will only work if critically necessary, to help with these necessary government activities.

To mitigate the spread of COVID-19, protect the public health, and provide essential protections to vulnerable Michiganders, it is crucial that all Michiganders take steps to limit in-person contact. To protect the public the meeting will take place by telephone. To participate in the meeting call 1-978-990-5407. When prompted, enter access code 800281 followed by pound or hash (#).

Please mute phone until public comment. At public comment, the Supervisor will ask if there is any public comment. If you wish to make a public comment please unmute your phone and give your name and address, you will have 3 minutes for public comments. If there is more than one person wishing to make a public comment the Supervisor will acknowledge the order of the public comments.

The public can call the Township Supervisor, Mike VanDenBerg at 269-501-6273 if they have any questions about the meeting. The Gun Plain Charter Township will provide necessary, reasonable auxiliary aids and services at the meeting to individuals with disabilities. Please contact the Township Clerk at 269-998-1290.

ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A PACE PROGRAM AND A PACE DISTRICT

TO ALL INTERESTED PERSONS IN GUN PLAIN CHARTER TOWNSHIP:

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Township Board of Gun Plain Charter Township, State of Michigan, will hold a public hearing on Monday, DECEMBER 21, 2020, at 4:30PM to receive comments on the proposed Property Assessed Clean Energy (“PACE”) program and the proposed PACE report. The meeting will be done by teleconference. TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the Township Board intends to establish a PACE program and to establish a PACE district, having the same boundaries as the Township’s jurisdictional boundaries, pursuant to Act No. 270, Public Acts of Michigan, 2010 (“Act 270”), for the purposes of encouraging economic development, improving property valuation, increasing employment, reducing energy costs, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and promoting the use of renewable energy systems and energy efficiency improvements.

TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the PACE report, required by Section 9(1) of Act 270, is available on the Township’s website at www.gunplain.org/index.htm, and is available for viewing at the office of the Township Clerk located at 381 8th Street, Plainwell, MI 49080. Call for an appointment.
